Program 1381

This spring we will feature a few of our upcoming Road Scholar programs that we believe are excellent  not only in value but also in learning experience and fun.  The first program that we would like to highlight is Program # 1381: The Great Smoky Mountain Railway: An Appalachian Adventure

Experience mountain views and capture mountain breezes aboard a train in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains. Depart the historic town of Bryson City and travel along the Nantahala River Gorge as you ride the rails. Explore renowned John Campbell Folk School to learn about classes in craft, art, music, and dance, and hear a talented musician perform tunes of Southern Appalacia for a delightful encounter with Great Smoky heritage.

Tom Murray

CEA wishes a Happy Birthday to Coordinator Tom Murray. Tom has been leading Road Scholar programs for over 20 years. Tom’s knowledge, humor, and hands-on approach make him an invaluable asset to the Road Scholar participant’s experience.

Program Date: May 19 - 24, 2013

Memphis — home of the blues, birthplace of rock ’n’ roll — beckons you to experience its panorama of history, heritage and culture and discover what makes it special from the local experts who really know the city’s soul. "Excellent leader. Whole program was good. I am a new widow and am very pleased about how easy it is to work into a crowd of Road Scholars and be comfortable. Thank you for making that possible."
